Dra. Zeneida Wong

Dr. Zeneida Wong is an oceanographer and researcher at the INCAR² Center. Her work specializes in coastal physical oceanography, with a strong focus on the study of southern Chilean channels, where she analyzes the dynamics of constrictions and water exchange processes that are highly relevant to aquaculture.

Her research also includes the analysis and processing of satellite data to investigate ocean–atmosphere interactions, and she maintains a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. She is the author and co-author of studies on the formation and evolution of upwelling shadows in the Gulf of Arauco, addressing their surface thermal structure and the role of the coastal jet in driving variability in these processes.

Dr. Wong earned her PhD in Oceanography from the University of Concepción (2022) and holds a degree in Oceanography from ESPOL (Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral) in Ecuador (2011).
