To lead innovation and transfer solutions through world-class scientific and technological research, fostering collaboration and interdisciplinarity to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of Chile's aquaculture industry and support the country's development.

To be a global leader in applied research and innovative solutions, driving the sustainable development of aquaculture and positioning Chile at the forefront of the industry worldwide.

General Objective

To advance the sustainable development of aquaculture in Chile through world-class interdisciplinary research, innovation, capacity building and collaboration, promoting knowledge transfer, technological progress and global alliances to address the critical challenges of the sector and contribute to social welfare.

Specific Objectives of INCAR²:

  1. Conduct world-class interdisciplinary and collaborative scientific and technological research, both nationally and internationally, to address the critical challenges of aquaculture in Chile.

  2. Strengthen collaboration between emerging research groups in Chile, promote sustainable aquaculture and accelerate the development of new technological services and products.

  3. Develop and implement innovative solutions to the challenges of the aquaculture sector, contributing to productive diversification through the co-creation of new knowledge, techniques, technologies, products, processes and services that foster the sustainable development of aquaculture.

  4. Effectively disseminate INCAR²'s research results and ideas to specialized audiences and broader sectors of Chilean society, promoting greater awareness and understanding of sustainable aquaculture.

  5. Train and support advanced capabilities for research and technology transfer, facilitating the integration of professionals into the aquaculture sector and strengthening their capacity for innovation.

  6. Build and strengthen national and international collaboration networks in sustainable aquaculture, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, resources and best practices.
