Dra. Myleidi Vera Otero

Biography

Dr. Myleidi Vera is a Chemist from Universidad del Valle and obtained her PhD in Sciences with a specialization in Chemistry from the Universidad de Concepción. She currently works as an academic and researcher in the field of polymer chemistry and materials, with specialization in enzymatic polymerization and biomass valorization for the development of sustainable functional materials. She has served as Principal Investigator of competitive research projects funded by the National Agency for Research and Development (ANID), including a FONDECYT Initiation project, leading research lines focused on the transformation of agro-forestry by-products into high-performance materials with potential for scaling and technology transfer. Within the INCAR² Applied Research Center, she contributes to the controlled-release vaccine development line, participating in the design of advanced polymeric systems for aquaculture applications, with a strong emphasis on stability and controlled release of bioactive compounds.
