Biography
Dr. Marco Yévenes is a biologist specialized in genetics, epigenetics, and evolutionary biology, with experience in research projects spanning both basic and applied science. Throughout his career, he has been part of diverse multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the generation of knowledge with both scientific and industrial relevance.
His research focuses on understanding how genetic and epigenetic variability—through genomic and epigenomic approaches—modulates adaptive and biogeographic processes that explain biological diversity, particularly in marine species of scientific and aquaculture interest. His work addresses processes ranging from microevolutionary dynamics, such as local adaptation, to macroevolutionary patterns, with a strong emphasis on the mechanisms underlying speciation. He has published in international journals and participated in specialized conferences, contributing to advances in evolutionary genomics and epigenomics, especially in issues related to the adaptation, evolution, management, and conservation of natural populations across diverse ecological contexts.
