Biography

Luis Montecinos is a Marine Biologist and Research Assistant in Research Line 5 (RL5) of INCAR², focused on the environmental impacts of aquaculture on marine ecosystems. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science with a specialization in Marine Biology (2006) and a professional degree in Marine Biology (2007) from the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción. He also earned an M.Sc. in Oceanography from the University of Concepción in 2015. His professional experience combines marine science, oceanographic fieldwork, and environmental monitoring, supported by his qualifications as a Professional Diver (Commercial Diver). Within INCAR², he contributes to field sampling, data collection, and the implementation of research activities aimed at improving the understanding of marine and coastal ecosystem dynamics in relation to aquaculture development.
