Biography

Katalina Llanos-Azócar is a Marine Biologist and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences from Universidad Andrés Bello. Since 2025, she has been a PhD student in the Biotechnology Program at the same university, where she conducts her research within Research Line 4: Stress and Animal Welfare of the INCAR² Applied Research Center.

She also serves as a lecturer for the course Aquaculture and Marine Biotechnology in the Biotechnology Engineering program at Universidad Andrés Bello. She has worked as a research assistant in the Molecular Biotechnology Laboratory, participating in FONDECYT Project 1230794 and FONDAP Project 1523A0007 (INCAR), specifically within RP2, focused on animal health during early developmental stages of salmonids and native resources.

Since 2022, she has actively collaborated in several FONDECYT and INCAR FONDAP projects, in addition to co-supervising an undergraduate thesis in Marine Biology. Her scientific output includes participation in six national and international conferences and contributions to multiple scientific articles published in high-impact indexed journals (Q1).
