Dr. Jorge León Muñoz

Biography

Dr. Jorge León-Muñoz, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción, conducts research aimed at understanding the effects of climate change on aquatic ecosystems in Chilean Patagonia. His studies analyze how hydrological variations in rivers influence the dynamics of fjords and coastal systems that are strategic for aquaculture. Through environmental monitoring, hydroclimatic analysis, and long-term studies, he assesses risks associated with droughts, extreme events, and changes in freshwater inputs. His work provides a scientific basis for sustainable management and the adaptation of aquatic ecosystems to climate change.
