Adrián Rodríguez Gabilondo

Adrián Rodríguez Gabilondo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. From 2019 to 2024, he worked as a researcher at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) in Havana, Cuba, as a member of the Metabolic Modulators for Aquaculture research group. During this period, he focused on the identification and characterization of biomolecules associated with the immune system, growth, and reproduction in fish, as well as on the study of growth hormone secretagogue peptides, bioactive molecules with metabolic and immunomodulatory functions and strong potential applications in aquaculture. The results of this research contributed to the National Award of the Cuban Academy of Sciences (2022), demonstrating immunostimulatory, antibacterial, and antiviral effects in fish. In parallel, he was involved in teaching activities in biotechnology and molecular biology, actively participated in scientific conferences, and contributed to science outreach initiatives. In 2025, he began his PhD studies in Sciences with a specialization in Renewable Aquatic Resources Management at the University of Concepción, Chile. He is currently a graduate researcher within the “Novel Fish Vaccines” research line of the Applied Research Center INCAR², where he participates in projects focused on vaccines, biomarkers, and immunogenomics for disease control in salmonids, contributing to biotechnological innovation in aquaculture. His areas of expertise include fish immunology, aquaculture genomics, vaccine development, and biotechnology applied to animal health.
